Greg Miller and I got a chance to follow Canadian soldiers training for combat in Afghanistan. The soldiers were from the Edmonton Garrison and were on an intense reconaissance training course which involved sleep deprivation, bad weather (as you can see) very little food and long, stressful missions. After a day of following these guys around I had all new respect for the Canadian military and their mission in Afghanistan. We went home to comfortable homes as these guys went out on another cold night mission.

Homeless people on the lower east side of Vancouver. I took this shot of the two people on the left smoking something. I got chased off by a few angry street people for taking this shot. For a second I thought about reasoning with them but decided to run instead.
